Jackson Wang is a Chinese fashion designer who has also been a great singer and vocal director. He has a separate record label, Team Wang, along with being a creative director and lead designer for his home brand, Team Wang Design. Even though he was born and brought up in Hong Kong, he has gained huge popularity in China. This has now become possible for him after joining JYP Entertainment s K-Pop Boy. After gaining global wide recognition, he started his own venture named Team Wang and started releasing solo music in China. He started releasing them globally thereafter. His most famous solo album, Mirrors, has gotten huge recognition across the world, even though it has reached number 32 on the Billboard 200 in the United States. The ‘Mirror was released in the year 2019. Recently, in the year 2021, he left the JYP Entertainment group and formed a separate hip-hop group under his home venture, Team Wang.
Early Life
Jackson Wang was born on the 28th of June 1994 in the estate of Kowloon Tong, British Hong Kong. Both of his parents were athletes. His mother, Sophia Chow, is a gymnast, whereas Wang Ruiji, his father, is a fencer. Motivated by his parents, he began learning about fencing at a very young age, namely 10. He has taken that seriously and practised it so hard that it brought him several awards. This includes first place at the Asian Junior and Cadet Fencing Championship in the year 2011.
Even though he was very successful in the path of fencing, his soul and heart showed much interest in joining the arts. While playing a game at his school in 2010, he was noticed by a representative of the South Korean talent agency JYP Entertainment, who invited him to participate in the global auditions in Kowloon. Fortunately, he has passed the audition. Along with that, he was even offered a scholarship to attend Stanford University for fencing. He began his K-pop training in Seoul, South Korea, because it was more appeapng to him than fencing. His first programme was "Win: Who is Next Two Years Later". This is a competition between YG Entertainment employees and JYP Trainees. He later joined the group called "Got7", of which Mark, Yugyeom, and BamBam are famous members. This group released its first song, "Girls Girls Girls," in the year 2014. As time went by, he gained popularity with his solo appearances.
