SIP is a signalpng protocol designed to create, modify, and terminate a multimedia session over the Internet Protocol. It is an apppcation layer protocol that incorporates many elements of the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP).
